Heri Witono began his career with KarimSyah in the administration and became an associate after completing his law degree. He now focuses on the areas of alternative dispute resolution, commercial litigation, banking, and capital market. Firdaus Sofyan

Firdaus has been with KarimSyah since the outset, commencing in administration and becoming an associate upon attaining his law degree. He deals primarily with matters involving Labor and Employment Law, and has handled quite a variety of employment disputes throughout the years, including a class action law suit against a subsidiary of a major airline company, a mediation with a major industrial labor union and variouis other mediations and litigations in the Indonesian courts.

Othman A. Karim

Othman is an associate specializing in all nature of litigation and also employment law. Although KarimSyah does not specialise in criminal matters, Othman has occasionally handled criminal liltigation for existing clients, and also, more recently an embezzlement case for a major NGO, international organisation.

Offy Syofiah

Offy began her arbitration career in the Secretariat of the local arbitral institution, BANI, and joined KarimSyah after assisting in some of our cases before that institution. She continues to specialize in Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution, as well as Commercial Litigation, and General Corporate law matters. Combining arbitration and litigation, she has a wealth of experience in all steps of the enforcement procedures for both awards and court judgements.

Vita Damayanti

Vita mainly handles corporate matters, including advice on Mergers and Acquisitions and Sharia Financing, but also deals with contentious matters in and outside the court. Her recent transactions include advising on an M&A transaction involving a major reinsurance company advising on sharia financing schemes, including but not limited to musyarakah and mudharabah, and representing a major insurance company in litigation before the Central Jakarta Court.

Mat Faozan

M. Faozan began his career with KarimSyah as a paralegal, although he has now become an associate. Faozan mainly handles corporate matters, including assisting with legal due diligence relating to debt restructuring, foreign investment, and employment issues. Occasionally, Faozan also deals with contentious matters, often assisting in fact finding for litigation purposes as well as acting as assistant counsel in employment disputes.

Margaret Rose

Margaret joined KarimSyah from the Banking sector, where she had been counsel for a number of renowned Indonesian banks. Today she handles primarily banking and other finance matters, including advising the Central Bank on its launch of the National Payment Gateway, but has also been involved with a number of contentious matters including several arbitral disputes, both domestic and international.

Yudi Sugintoro

Yudis specializes dispute resolution and has been involved in a variety of disputes, before both the courts and arbitral tribunals. His recent cases include: serving as counsel in a domestic construction arbitration, and in another relating to a coal purchase contact, and representing a major hospital in a civil litigation concerning an insurance claim.

Rizki Karim

Rizki Karim’s primary interest lies in dispute resolution, in particular arbitration. He led and coached Moot arbitration teams at Gadjah Mada University, and continues to assist them and other teams. Since joining KarimSyah he has served as assistant counsel on a number of arbitrations, including a major construction case before the ICC in Singapore. He has also served as Secretariat in a few domestic arbitrations before BANI and BAPMI, and is assisting in an intra-governmental litigation relating to embezzlement.

Rininta Ayunina

The most recent associate to join KarimSyah, Erin has, from her first day, assisted on a number of arbitrations. She has served as an assistant counsel for a rather complex construction dispute administered by the ICC in Singapore, and assisted in a dispute involving mining corporations adjudged by the New South Wales Supreme Court. In her spare time, she also coaches and assists mooting teams from Universitas Gadjah Mada and Universitas Indonesia. Her primary focus is on alternative dispute resolution, particularly arbitration, but she is also assisting on some banking matters.

Paul Cohen

Paul is based in the UK and US and has assisted KarimSyah in a couple of our major investor-state arbitrations, where we represented the Government of Indonesia in disputes under ICSID and also under UNCITRAL rules. He has also joined us in advising the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on methods of tracing corrupted assets and on International Corruption matters.

Farida Pratiwi

Farida has served as of-counsel to KarimSyah for almost 20 years.
