Experience

A member of the New York Bar, Ms. Mills has practiced in Indonesia for over 35 years. A Chartered Arbitrator, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators ("CIArb") and of the Singapore and Hong Kong Institutes, and founder of the Indonesian Chapter of CIArb, Ms. Mills often sits as arbitrator both domestically and internationally and is on the panel of most arbitral institutions in the region and beyond. As counsel, she has successfully represented the Indonesian government in several investor-state arbitrations, and also represents major domestic and multinational private and state-owned companies in such disputes.

Ms. Mills is an active member of the board of a number of professional organizations, including the Executive Board of ArbitralWomen, the first appointing authority of the Chinese-European Arbitration Institution, the IBA/TMI task force on investor-stale mediation, the editorial board of the Journal of World Energy Law and Business, teaches all levels of CIArb courses as well as others throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

Her substantive fields of specialization include investor-state disputes, financing and restructuring, resources, insurance, transportation, hospitality, information technology and general cross-border transactions. She has published over 150 papers in professional books and journals.
