Mirza Karim is recognized as one of Indonesia's leading lawyers in Sharia financing and transaction, having assisted most Indonesian banks in its Sharia transactions. He is also an expert in the resources field, having served as House Counsel for Caltex Pacific for twelve years prior to joining KarimSyah Law Firm. He teaches and writes on oil, gas, mining, and energy matters for a number of educational institutions and professional journals. Mr. Karim attained his legal degree at the University of Indonesia and a Master's at American University in Washington, D.C.
A member of the Indonesian Bar, he also sits as arbitrator for the National Shariah Arbitration Board and as Mediator in the National Mediation Centre, and teaches Islamic finance and resources law at various institutions in Jakarta and elsewhere in the archipelago.
